Why are you likely to lose money even with positive ROI?

Apparently, it is not only possible to wipe out an entire account with an average of about .01% unleveraged ROI per trade, it's very likely to happen. Of course this is just a very simple calculator that doesn't factor in a lot of things but I think it proves a point and says a lot. Average... Why are you likely to lose money even with positive ROI?
